The FN 509 LS EDGE® represents the performance-focused evolution of FN's 509 striker-fired pistol platform. Combining a 5-inch hammer-forged barrel, optimized long slide, flat-face trigger, aluminum magwell, and FN's Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System™, the LS EDGE is engineered around control, accuracy, and fast operation.
Performance-Focused Long Slide
The optimized long slide incorporates strategically placed lightening cuts to reduce unnecessary weight and improve overall balance. Combined with a 6.7-inch sight radius, the design provides a stable shooting platform while allowing the slide to cycle efficiently.
A durable graphite PVD finish provides a distinctive appearance and added surface protection.
5" Hammer-Forged Barrel
At the heart of the LS EDGE is a 5-inch target-crowned, hammer-forged barrel with a 1:10" right-hand twist. The polished chamber and feed ramp are designed to support consistent feeding and extraction across a variety of compatible ammunition.
Flat-Face Trigger
FN equips the LS EDGE with a flat-face trigger designed to break at approximately 90 degrees with short take-up and a positive reset. A conical striker further refines the trigger system, with a listed trigger-pull range of approximately 4.5 to 6.7 pounds.
Optics-Ready From the Factory
FN's Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System™ provides compatibility with many popular miniature red-dot optics without requiring a traditional aftermarket mounting solution.
The pistol also features a precision fiber-optic front sight paired with a blackout rear notch. The sighting system is designed to co-witness with compatible mounted optics.
Enhanced Ergonomics & Controls
An updated perimeter frame texture provides additional gripping surface in both wet and dry conditions. Two interchangeable backstraps allow the grip profile to be adjusted to better accommodate different hand sizes.
Additional controls include an oversized ambidextrous slide stop and an oversized knurled magazine release.
A flared graphite-anodized aluminum magazine well provides a generous opening for magazine insertion, while compatible magazines feature graphite-anodized aluminum floor plates.
The frame also incorporates a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail for compatible lights and other rail-mounted accessories.
